My Next Generation iPhone Release Date Prediction

After watching the blogs and information over the last month or so, I’ve gathered my thoughts and come up with the following next generation iPhone release date predictions.

Friday, June 18th - (80% Chance)
Monday, June 21st - (10% Chance)
Friday, June 25th - (10% Chance)

Why do I think this, you may ask?  5 reasons.

1) It is painfully obvious that Apple is going to announce the new iPhone hardware at WWDC next week (June 7th)

2) An AT&T insider has reported that the next iPhone will be coming out in June (and not even late June - this is why June 25th has only a 10% chance of release)

3) AT&T has blocked out June vacations for all its employees (If June 25th or later, they would probably be blocking out July vacations)

4) All previous iPhone releases have been on a Friday around the same time of year (all but one in June, last year’s release was on the 19th)

5) Because there have been numerous reports of AT&T customers having their upgrade eligibility dates pushed up to June 21st, which would allow customers to buy a new iPhone on Monday or shortly after the 21st and would help spread out the rush a bit.

It’s possible that they would release on the Friday after the 21st to make sure that everyone was eligible at launch, but I doubt it.  I figure they will want to spread out the rush a bit by making the early up-graders wait a few more days.

Of course there’s always the chance that they will surprise us and release on the 21st (Monday) or another day (earlier in June) entirely, but I think these dates make the most sense.

Regardless of the release date, it will be soon and it will be a hot item!  Be prepared to wait in line and camp out if you want one!
